Ingredients of Chickpea-Spinach Croquettes

  1. You need 250 grams of cooked chickpeas.
  2. It's 200 grams of spinach leaves.
  3. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  4. It's 2 tablespoon of heaped gram flour/besan or bread crumbs.
  5. You need 3 of garlic pods chopped.
  6. It's 5-6 of black pepper corns.
  7. You need 5-6 of coriander seeds(optional).
  8. Prepare 1 teaspoon of (or more) paprika.
  9. Prepare of Some oil to shallow fry/ oil to deep fry and some to blend.

Chickpea-Spinach Croquettes step by step

  1. Blanch the Spinach leaves using some water for 5 minutes.
  2. Discard the water next and chop the leaves roughly.
  3. Add the spinach in a blender, followed by the chickpeas.
  4. Add salt, paprika, garlic, coriander seeds and pepper corns.
  5. Use some oil and blend until smooth.
  6. Transfer the mix in a bowl and add the gram flour/ bread crumbs.
  7. Mix well and refrigerate 10 minutes covered.
  8. Heat oil in a pan.
  9. Prepare croquettes of the mixture.
  10. Shallow fry them in batches.
  11. Flip and fry until brown and crisp on both sides.
  12. Place the fried croquettes on an absorbent paper for sometime before serving.
  13. Serve while warm with dips of your choice (yogurt-tahini Dip is recommended here.).
